Sharon Ann Smith
Welcome to art from the heART !
It is my endeavor to bring art from my heART to life.
Sharing my artful adventure with YOU!
What a wild ride it has been - this art adventure!
I’ve loved art and making art my entire life ! I am excited to share my love of all things art with YOU.
My expectations are always high on this journey, but I’m completely humbled when others love my art with such passion that they grace their homes with the pieces I create!
I approach the art making process with reverence and JOY . Bringing color and life to canvas .
Art was my first true love in school! I drew, I painted and learned to teach exactly what I love ! Studying and crafting art in school and sharing my love of art in the community!
As a teacher for 26 years, I learned along with my students and in every subject I found a way to infuse art into the teaching day !
My students began to thrive using art as a creative learning experience! I made lessons fun and the learning became easier with visual lessons !
I decided to embrace my love of art full time. I soon started studying oil painting, and graphite drawing creating the human figure on canvas from life models. Eventually, studying portraiture, still life, watercolor and plein air (painting landscape).
My love of light on the form, vibrant color, and magical beauty became something I longed to create on my canvas. Sharing this love in my artwork is now what I do in my studio full time!
Teaching and creating vibrant works of heART have become my life’s work.
For me, art is something best shared with others.
Each piece I create I infuse my joy for the painting process. My fingerprints are apart of each piece I paint.
Recently, a piece of my artwork was purchased as a gift from her daughter in law at Christmas. The woman who received the painting sent me a beautiful email on how she couldn’t wait to hang my artwork, but was having difficulty finding just the right place. Her dilemma was this- she wanted to see my painting from every angle in her home at once!
She enjoyed the colors and subject matter so much she wanted to be able to look up and see it wherever she was in her home!
I find this to be an incredibly high honor.
My art is an expression of my love of flowers, nature, and the beauty of life!
I use a full palette of color when creating art from life! Usually I have 15 colors that I mix and cultivate for each painting .
My studio is filled with fresh flowers, porcelain antique jardinieres , brass vases, and unique china cups.
I am always looking for inspiration in the world around me. Bringing a unique perspective to relics of the past! Filling my canvas with the hope and beauty of springtime.
It’s truly a thrill to share my work with you ! The experiences I share with all my students who come to my workshops and the encounters I have with my collectors bring depth to my artlife. New relationships and layers of inspiration from each interaction .
It is my belief that art is an engagement of the soul!
Where spirit meets world.
I hope to bring that to you through my paintings.
